- This is a generic database that can be searched for trends. Notice that you can limit your results to trade journals by selecting trade journals from your options on the left. This appears only after you have entered your search.
Business Source Complete (Business Searching Interface)
- Access this database and conduct a search using the NAICS code which, for women's retail clothing is 44812. This code will not work as is so add a 0 to the end and it will work. Make sure you have changed the pull down box on the right to the NAICS code. In the first page of your results list, you will see several 100+ page reports. The one called "Worldwide Women's Clothing Stores Industry (NAICS 44812)" will be especially valuable for your project.
- Click on the Company Information tab on the top and enter a company name. Options for company reports usually appear on the left side of your screen. If you click on the SWOT option the report will usually contain information related to trends and how the company plans to adjust to the market. Also consider the profile report and the market analysis report.
