Risk is defined in the International Encyclopedia of Organization Studies as an "event exposing organizational stakeholders to future loss." With that said, there are many ways to define and to mitigate the uncertainties of risk; these are explored in the various materials that comprise this guide.
Times of financial turbulence represent particularly challenging times for risk managers. Click here to be taken to a separate guide that presents an extensive collection of Milner's current holdings on the Great Recession of 2007-2010.
Please note that the titles highlighted in the Guide do not represent the complete holdings of Milner Library on the topic of risk management -- just a representative sample of titles added during the past 10 years or so. You may use subject headings from titles in this guide for a comprehensive search of the Milner Library catalog.
