How do I request a book that Milner does not have?
I-Share is a consortium of 91 college and university libraries in Illinois. Request books currently unavailable at Milner Library or that Milner does not own, from other I-Share libraries. Search the I-Share Catalog.
To request a book from an I-Share Library, log into your Milner/I-Share account. NOTE: The Milner/I-Share account no longer requires account creation. Login with your ULID and password.
In the I-Share Catalog record for the book you want to request, click the "Request" link next to an item and follow the prompts to submit the request. For help requesting a book through I-Share, watch a short video here.
Requested books arrive within 3-5 business days. You will receive an email when a requested book is available for pick-up at Milner's Checkout Desk, the desk to your left when you come into Milner Library.
How do I request books that Milner and I-Share libraries do not have?
Use the Interlibrary Loan service to request books unavailable through I-Share from Illinois libraries. First, enter your ISU ULID and password to login to your Interlibrary Loan account. You no longer need to set up your interlibrary loan account. Submit a book request by selecting "Create Request" under "Interlibrary Loan Requests" on the interlibrary loan request form, then click the Book button at the top of the Submit an Interlibrary Loan Request page. This is a free service!
NOTE: Although physical items may be requested via Interlibrary Loan, many libraries are not participating in Interlibrary Loan for the time being. Patrons with any questions should contact our librarians for research assistance.
