Article Databases

To search multiple databases at the same time, click on the "Articles" tab on the Milner website.

The sources listed below are good places to begin your research.   


1.  JSTOR   
         
Full text of backfiles of major journals in history and related fields. 


2.  Project Muse.
            Full text of recent years for some 425 journals in the humanities/social sciences. 

 

3.  MLA International Bibliography.
          Primary database for literature including articles on ancient texts.           

 

4.  Humanities International Complete. 
          Indexes journal articles from history, classics, religion and art.



5.  L'Annee Philologique.
         Database of scholarly works on many aspects of ancient Roman and Greek civilization.
         Subscription limited to 5 simultaneous users.

6.  International Medieval Bibliography.
          Database of articles, essays, book chapters, conference papers, etc. covering the European Middle Ages (400-1500).


To Locate Journal Articles:

The Find It link is available in most databases. 
Click on this link to access the full text of journal articles and to search for a journal in the Online Catalog.

If you have a complete citation for an article, use the Citation Finder.

Type in the journal title, year, volume and starting page, and click on SUBMIT.

To determine if a specific journal is available online through Milner Library, go to
Journal, Magazine, and Newspaper Finder

Type in the title of your journal and press ENTER.
