Transfer Agents
Companies with publicly traded securities often use outside agents (banks, trust companies, etc.) to keep track of individuals and institutions who own their stocks and bonds. Some place to identify company's transfer agent include:
- Mergent ArchivesSelect tab titled: "Annual Report Search." Search by name of company or ticker symbol. Transfer agent is usually listed toward the end of the report.
- S & P Global NetAdvantageSet the "Resources" drop-down menu to "Corporation Records" and search by name or ticker symbol of company. Transfer agent (if listed) is usually in the "Stock Data" segment of the report.
