Companies with publicly traded securities often use outside agents (banks, trust companies, etc.) to keep track of individuals and institutions who own their stocks and bonds. Some place to identify company's transfer agent include:
Select tab titled: "Annual Report Search." Search by name of company or ticker symbol. Transfer agent is usually listed toward the end of the report.
Includes reports from the following sources Dun & Bradstreet Country Insight Reports, Dun & Bradstreet Million Dollar Directory, Hoovers Handbooks, Commodity Research Bureau Yearbook, Mergent patent archives, Mergent Bond Record, Dun & Bradstreet Who Owns Whom, and FTSE Russell Index Reports.
Set the "Resources" drop-down menu to "Corporation Records" and search by name or ticker symbol of company. Transfer agent (if listed) is usually in the "Stock Data" segment of the report.
