A quick guide on using the Mendeley source manager.

Downloading and Installing the Desktop App

The Mendeley Desktop app is available for Windows, MacOS, and Linux. Use this option if you want to access your sources offline.

  1. Go to the Download Desktop app page on
    Note: Mendeley is beta testing an updated version, it has very limited capabilities so make sure you do not download that version.
  2. Click the Download button for the app
    1. The system will automatically recognize which operating system you are using
  3. From your Downloads folder, open the installation file
  4. Follow the installation prompts on your computer
    (Not sure how? Follow these instructions for Windows, macOS, Linux)
    1. Note: You may need to restart your computer once the installation is complete
  5. The app will be in your Programs or Applications folder
  6. Autosync with you Web Library is the default so you will be prompted to log into your online account
