Start with reference sources (such as your textbook, the databases on the right, or general web searches) to quickly learn more about your topic and develop an initial list of important concepts and terms.
Then, switch to an article database, a journal or the library catalog to find in-depth information. Use the initial terms you found. Swap out different terms and experiment to see which combinations work best.
Follow leads, such as: following subject links and/or headings; looking for other works by the same author; looking at other articles in the same periodical; following up on references found in the reading(s).
Overall, use a variety of source types to get the most complete range of perspectives. Your own perspective is also valuable and part of this research 'conversation'.
