Helpful Databases
A suggested list of databases to find scholarly articles. There are subject-specific databases and two multi-disciplinary databases for interdisciplinary topics or if you're not sure where to start.
- Criminal Justice Abstracts with full textFull text database for criminology and related disciplines and includes journals, books, and reports from government and nongovernmental agencies.
- SocINDEXFull text database for sociology and all sub-disciplines and includes journal articles, books, conference papers, and author profiles cover topics like abortion, crime, demography, ethnic & racial studies, gender studies, marriage & family, social problems, substance abuse and violence.
- HeinOnline AcademicFull text database focused on legal information from journals, federal laws, regulations, case law, reports and opinions of the U.S. Attorney General, and the U.S. State Department's Foreign Relations of the United States (FRUS). Help documentation available here.
- JSTORFull text multi-disciplinary database of journal articles, books, images, and primary sources encompassing area studies, arts, business, economics, history, humanities, law, medicine, allied health, science, mathematics, and social sciences. Search Help for Students

Search for articles from various journals, magazines, newspapers and more. Note: Listed materials may not be available through Milner Library.

In addition to searching for content through a database, you can also search through individual journals. See below for some journal titles that may be relevant to your research question. Articles not directly available through journals may be available through other databases or can be requested through interlibrary loan.
