Designed to Win: Political Buttons and Pins from the Past

This guide is meant to provide supplemental and instructional material in conjunction with the Milner Library Button Exhibit, 2024

Introduction

This collection, donated by Emeritus Politics & Government Professor Robert Bradley, showcases buttons and pins distributed for political campaigns in the last few decades.

Dr. Bradley attended previous national political conventions, allowing him to receive wonderful examples of political buttons and pins. At these conventions, lobbyists, news organizations, and other political groups also give buttons and small trinkets to showcase their influence.

Take a look at the pages below and check out examples of political communication used through button making.
