What is I-Share?

For materials not available in Milner Library, expand your search by choosing the “All I-Share Libraries” option in the search box. I-Share serves as the shared catalog for 94 CARLI member libraries. Materials from I-Share libraries may be requested and sent to Milner Library, allowing much more variety in available resources.

Interlibrary Loan

Milner Library also has access to Interlibrary loan services for print materials that are not available through the I-Share Catalog, and for articles that are not available through the library print or electronic journals. Interlibrary loan requests are submitted through Tipasa, Milner Library’s request management software.

To make an interlibrary loan request from a known article in one of Milner's databases, click either the 'Find it' button or the 'Check ISU for Full Text' button, depending on the database you are using. Both of these buttons will take you back to Milner's catalog with a record for the article. The page will ask you to sign in, then present a link: Request Article through Interlibrary Loan (see image below). This will take you to a mostly complete form to submit.

If you are looking for material outside of Milner databases, you can still search Milner's catalog for an interlibrary loan link. There is a link at the bottom of every catalog record page that allows you to submit at interlibrary loan request (see below). This link will take you to the form, also mostly completed for you.

To request material not available first through Milner's catalog, fill out this blank form and submit it for review.
