Milner Library houses, maintains, and circulates a small collection of tests that were purchased by the Special Education Department. These tests are not the property of the library, but the vast majority have been cataloged and appear in the Milner Catalog. Catalog entries include a contact email for making a request. 

The tests in the SED Test Collection can only be used and checked out by students who are in certain classes or field placements. At the beginning of each semester, professors who teach certain classes supply the library with a list of students who may have access.

To find these in the catalog, search for “Department of Special Education test kits.”

To check out SED Tests, email MilnerSED@ilstu.edu at least two days before requested pick-up date. Your message must include: 

1. Name of the requested test 
2. Your contact information, including both a telephone number and an email address
3. The requested date of pick-up
4. The date the test will be returned

Reserved tests should be picked up and returned at the Circulation Desk on Floor 2. Due to the volume of checkouts, tests will generally be checked out for a week to students except under special circumstances. Do not assume that the test will be ready unless a confirmation message has been received.
