Searching Milner Catalog for Children's Literature

To find quality children's literature at Milner Library you will have to know some of the basics for searching with the Milner Library Catalog. Especially important is understanding how to use some of the available filtering options to focus your results. The most important to know is how to search only materials in the Teaching Materials Center. Watch the video below to learn how.

Beyond Milner

While Milner Library's Teaching Materials Center has wonderful options for children's books, you may want to also consult three other places:

  1. Thomas Metcalf School Library: Books are browsable using the Milner Library catalog, but you have to set up an appointment with the Metcalf librarian to pick them up. To search Metcalf, follow the same process as outlined in the video above, but filter the location to search the three Zimmerman Library locations.
  2. Normal Public Library: Get a library card as a student and search their catalog or in-person to find relevant resources. This card will also let you check-out materials at Bloomington Public Library.
  3. Bloomington Public library: Get a library card as a student and search their catalog or in-person to find relevant resources. This card will also let you check-out materials at Normal Public Library.
