COB Graduate Assistants - Data Research

This guide is for the second of three sessions for the College of Business graduate assistants. The focus of this session is data research.

Make Sure to Give Credit Where It is Due

Gathering data and making it available requires a considerable investment of expertise and resources.  Make sure to acknowledge that work by citing your datasets and other data resources.

APA Style for data set:
author(s). (date). title (publisher, if not already noted as author) [Data Set]. DOI or URL

example:
United States Census Bureau. (May 26, 2022). All Sectors: County Business Patterns [Data set]. https://www2.census.gov/programs-surveys/cbp/data/2020

Check the source of your dataset or data resource to see if they offer a suggested citation that may give you a head start.

For more information, refer to APA Style: Data set references.
