Family Nurse Practitioner: Getting Started

Additional Guides

Researching Milner

Hello. My name is Sue Franzen. I’m your Nursing Librarian. If you have any questions, please contact me. You will find my contact information on every page of this guide.

This Family Nurse Practitioner guide can help you:

  • Find books and articles
  • Identify databases specific to Nursing
  • Understand the research process
  • Find practice guidelines
  • Write an annotated bibliography
  • Practice ethical research
  • Cite and manage your literature

Libraries are notorious for their willingness to share materials. There are very few resources we are unable to get for you.

All of the books on this guide can be requested and sent to an academic library near you. In order to request a book, you need to use I-Share for books at Milner Library or other university/college libraries in Illinois. Here is a tutorial:

Requesting an Item via I-Share

You can also request books and articles from libraries outside of Illinois using the interlibrary loan system. Watch these tutorials to find out how:

If you want or need materials/resources and aren't sure how to obtain them, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am happy to assist you!
