This page will help you use Milner's catalog to find books and e-books. Books can be helpful for understanding the basic facts of a situation or learning the history and background information on your topic. Print and electronic materials are available through Milner's catalog.
The first three minutes of this video shows the basics of how to use Milner's catalog to find and access books. The rest of it discusses how to use Milner's Article Search.
Many of you may prefer or require e-books to print material for this project. You can limit to just books available electronically in the catalog. To do so, first create a search string for the chosen topic. Make sure you are searching within the Library Catalog, and looking for Books.
When you are in the search results, on the right side of the page will be a list of limiter options. Under Availability you will see Available Online. That will limit your results just to electronic sources.
**Note: see the box below for suggestions on reference sources. Milner has two general databases for reference e-books!
Need a quick overview of a new concept or a source to cite for a basic fact? Reference sources may be your best option for those kinds of needs. The links below are the two major reference databases to which Milner subscribes. The video gives an overview of what a reference source is and how to find them.
