NUR 341

Hello. My name is Sue Franzen. I’m the Mennonite College of Nursing librarian. If you have any questions, please contact me. See the "Contact Me!" box on the right.

This NUR 341 guide can help you with:

  • Getting started with the research process
  • Identifying databases specific to Nursing
  • Identifying databases for other subject areas, such as science, business, and education
  • Using RefWorks & APA
  • Writing an annotated bibliography

As your Nursing librarian, I wrote a change project annotated bibliography to serve as an example for you. Throughout this guide, I share best practices with you based on my expertise as a librarian and my experience writing the annotated bibliography. If you have any questions, please contact me at srfranz@ilstu.edu or (309) 438-8336.

  • Keep your change plan in mind.
    • Be sure you have clearly determined what you want your change project to be.
    • Example Change Project Statement: “Serve as an embedded librarian in a fully online Nursing course to support students' research.”
  • Select important terminology from change project plan to use in initial searches for evidence.
    • Example Change Project Terms: Embedded Librarian, Online, Nursing, RN-to-BSN
  • Decide what databases would be most appropriate to search.
    • Example Change Project Search: CINAHL, PubMed
