NUR 341 - Leadership Dimensions: In Professional Nursing: RN To BSN

An online library guide created to support NUR 341: Leadership Dimension: In Professional Nursing: RN TO BSN at Illinois State University.

Change Project: Overview

Purpose:  The change project allows learners to synthesize reflective practice knowledge and skills learned throughout the program through identification of a clinically based management / leadership problem and development of a theory- and evidence-based plan to effectively address the problem through planned change.  If you can actually implement this change at your place of work, that’s great! If not, simply work on the assignment as if you were going to be implementing the change.

You will need 5 evidence-based research articles for this project and will be required to sign up for a Zoom session with me, your nursing librarian. Please use this SignUp Genius link to sign up for a 45 minute session. Prior to the meeting, you will be asked to:

  • Find one to three articles that you are planning to use for your project and send them to lakill1@ilstu.edu.

Change Project: Best Practices

  • Keep your change plan in mind.
    • Be sure you have clearly determined what you want your change project to be.
    • Example Change Project Statement: “Serve as an embedded librarian in a fully online Nursing course to support students' research.”
  • Select important terminology from change project plan to use in initial searches for evidence.
    • Example Change Project Terms: Embedded Librarian, Online, Nursing, RN-to-BSN
  • Decide what databases would be most appropriate to search.
    • Example Change Project Search: CINAHL, PubMed
