Established in 1885, the AEA is a non-profit, non-partisan, scholarly association dedicated to the discussion and publication of economics research. The Association supports established and prospective economists with a set of career-enhancing programs and services:

The American Institute for Economic Research (AIER) is one of the oldest and most respected nonpartisan economic research and advocacy organizations in the country. With a global reach and influence, AIER is dedicated to developing and promoting the ideas of pure freedom and private governance by combining advanced economic research with accessible media outreach and educational programming to cultivate a better, broader understanding of the fundamental principles that enable peace and prosperity around the world.

The Econometric Society is an international society for the advancement of economic theory in its relation to statistics and mathematics. The Society operates as a completely disinterested, scientific organization without political, social, financial, or nationalistic bias.

The Midwest Economics Association is a non-profit organization whose purpose is the advancement of economic knowledge and the economics profession. The Association provides an annual forum for our members to exchange ideas and to present research. Any person who is or has been engaged in full-time or part-time teaching, research, or study in the fields of economics and business administration, or who has worked as an applied economist is eligible for membership in the MEA. While the majority of our members reside in the Midwest, our membership base covers the United States, Canada, and overseas.

The National Economic Association (NEA) was founded in 1969 as the Caucus of Black Economists to promote the professional lives of minorities within the profession. In addition to continuing its founding mission, the organization is particularly interested in producing and distributing knowledge of economic issues that are of exceptional interest to promoting economic growth among native and immigrant African Americans, Latinos, and other people of color.

The World Economics Association (WEA) was launched on May 16, 2011. It fills a gap in the international community of economists — the absence of a truly international, inclusive, pluralist, professional association. The American Economic Association and UK’s Royal Economic Society provide broad associations mainly for their country’s economists. The WEA will do the same for the world’s community of economists, while promoting a pluralism of approaches to economic analysis.

The World Economic Forum is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation. The Forum engages the foremost political, business, cultural and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.
