Find Textbooks at Milner Library

This guide tells how to identify required textbooks, check if Milner has your textbooks, and find textbooks if Milner doesn't have your textbooks.

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan

If a book is not available through Milner Library or I-Share and is not an obvious textbook title, you can try requesting it through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). This is a FREE service!

Milner staff cannot fill Interlibrary loan requests for books with titles that are clearly textbooks (e.g. Introduction to Psychology) for several reasons:

  • Interlibrary loan books have a short checkout time and often don't allow renewals.
  • Interlibrary loan only shows library staff if a library owns a book and not whether the book can go to other libraries.
  • Interlibrary loan book requests may take a number of weeks for other libraries to process and may be cancelled.

The Make an ILL Request with a Citation help video shows how to request a book from interlibrary loan.
