This page explains how to find news on congressional information from two of MIlner's datatbases: Proquest Congressional and Nexis Uni. If you need more assistance, please contact me using the information in my profile or Milner's Ask a Librarian.
From the Congressional Publications homepage, click the News & Social Media button at the top of the page.
This will take you to the specific search page. Add keywords to the search box. You can limit results by date by selecting the publication date dropdown menu below the search box. You can also select one or more of the available publications, either from traditional titles or social media.
From the Nexis Uni homepage, click the Advanced Search button directly under the main search box.
On the Advanced search page, select the News tab to ensure you are searching only for news publications. Enter keywords into the search boxes, and select a specific publication date range if desired.
On the left side of the results page is a lists of limiters to reduce the number of search results. Click the Subjects limiter to see the types of articles that are listed. Click the Select Multiple link within the subject section to view all the available subjects.
Select all the subjects that are related to government. For example, "Government & Public Administration" or "International Relations & National Security." This will limit the results just to articles that relate to these topics.
