A Leg to Stand On / Oliver Sacks. (This book is the story of Dr. Sacks himself, after he suffered a severe knee injury. He was chased off a cliff, by a bull. He tells how his immobilized leg became an alien thing that did not seem to belong to him. He suffered tremendous difficulties regaining the use of his leg. The doctors and nurses were largely unsympathetic. )
