How to Renew Books & Other Items

This set of help videos shows how to renew items based on which account you used to make the request.

Renew Items - Milner/I-Share Account

This video shows how to renew items (books, cds, etc.) checked out from Milner or another I-Share library. Some items like course reserves and technology can't be renewed.

Renew Books from your Milner/I-Share Account

This video will show you how to renew any Milner Library or I-Share items you have checked out.

From the Library's home page, choose the Library Accounts button under the Start Your Research search box.

On the Library Accounts page, select Access your Milner/I-Share Account.

Choose ULID Login. Login with your ULID and password.

The My Library Card page displays an overview of your checked out items.

To renew a book, choose Loans.

Select Renew to get a new due date on your book.

If you have items from multiple I-Share libraries, your account will list the items separately under the libraries they came from instead of all on one list.

You may have many I-Share libraries on your list.

To view only libraries you currently have items from, change All Institutions to Has Activity.

If you don’t see the item you are looking for, check each library for your item.

Renew Items from Your Interlibrary Loan Account

This video will show you how to renew Interlibrary Loan items .

From the Library's home page, choose the Library Accounts button under the Start Your Research search box.

On the Library Accounts page, select Access your Interlibrary Loan Account.

Choose Illinois State University.

On the Central Login page, login with your ULID and password.

After you login, you will see a list of your checked out interlibrary loan items.

To check the due date of a book or other physical item that you have checked out from interlibrary loan, find the item on the list.

You can view your due date next to your item under Status.

You may not be able to renew all interlibrary loan items. To check if your item is renewable, look for a Renew request button next to the item.

To renew the item, select Renew request. This sends a request to the library the item is from to ask if you can renew the item. The due date for your item will not change unless the library approves the request. You will get an email letting you know whether the library approved your request.
