Find TMC books using Library Catalog

This video shows you how to find children’s and young adult books in the Teaching Materials Center. Also called the TMC.

From the library’s home page, go to the search box under Start Your Research.

Change the dropdown from Everything to Library Catalog.

Type in your search terms.

Click the Search button.

For TMC books, expand Location in Tweak your results and choose Floor 6 Shelves Teaching Materials Center.

Click the Apply Filters button.

In the search results, check to see if the TMC book you want is listed and available.

If it is, note the call number and use it to find the book in the TMC.

You can check out TMC items at the Service Desk on Floor 2. The loan period is two weeks with one renewal.

Find Bilingual Children’s Books in the Teaching Materials Center

Change the dropdown from Everything to Library Catalog.

Type in a search term representing your broad topic and the word Bilingual.

Click the Search button.

For TMC books, expand Location in Tweak your results and choose Floor 6 Shelves Teaching Materials Center.

You also filter by a specific language using the Language filter.

Click the Apply Filters button.

In the search results, check to see if the TMC book you want is listed and is available.

If it is, note the call number and use it to find the book in the TMC.

You can check out TMC items at the Service Desk on Floor 2. The loan period is two weeks with one renewal.

Click the Apply Filters button.

Next expand Resource Type and choose Kits and Realia.

Click the Apply Filters button.

In the search results, check to see if the TMC item you want is listed and is available.

If it is, note the call number and use it to find the item in the TMC.
