Helpful training materials and information for new librarians

Curbside Pickup

Curbside Pickup Reminders

  • Curbside Pickup is available again this Fall, but is mostly meant to provide item access for those with health concerns about entering the building.
  • I-Share Items: The item available email WILL NOT include a link to schedule a curbside pickup (https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/MilnerLibrary1@IllinoisStateUniversity.onmicrosoft.com/bookings/).
    • Make sure the patron has already received the item available notice email before sending them the link to the curbside pickup scheduling form.
  • Milner/ILL Items: The item available email WILL include a link to the curbside pickup form.
  • Access Services will provide curbside delivery for people even if they have not scheduled a pick-up time in advance. As long as the item is on the hold shelf, we can tell the patron to call the number on the back door (309-438-7321).

Renewing and Returning Items

Renewing Items

  • Referring Renewal Questions: If patrons are unable to renew items online, please refer them to Access Services so they can help with the renewal.

Returning Items

Returning Items at Milner

  • Along with Milner items, I-Share and ILL materials can still be returned in the book drops this Fall.

Returning Items at I-Share Libraries

Returning Items via Mail

  • Patrons not in Illinois or not close to an I-Share library can mail items back to us using the street address 201 North School Street, Normal, Il 61790-8900
    • If students feel this would be a financial burden, please refer them to Jeff Ridinger, and Jeff will have Wendy arrange a Mailing Label.  Jeff's personal preference is that we limit this service to students.

Patrons Not Returning to ISU

  • If a patron who needs to return items will not be returning to ISU, have them contact Jeff Ridinger.

Milner and I-Share Overdue Items

  • All fines will be automatically removed from the patron library account once the item has been returned and discharged.
  • Access Services will not be putting the fines into student accounts until the items list has been searched.
