Helpful training materials and information for new librarians

Make It Space

Make It Space

The Make it Space materials are at the Reference Desk in the bottom slider drawer in the cupboards. We can give them out to patrons for free.

The Make It Space contains the computer lab, Ready Record Studio, and a variety of equipment:

  • 3D printers: These aren't actually in the lab, but are part of it. One is in LITS and can only be seen by staff, and another one is on Floor 3 in a public area. A third 3D printer will be installed on Floor 2 in a public area.  All 3D printers can only be operated by LITS.
    • Patrons can request 3D print jobs via the 3D print job request form.
    • Patrons can pick up completed print jobs from the Circulation Desk.
    • Other questions about 3D printing can be referred to Steve Koehler (sjkoehl@ilstu.edu).
  • Ellison Die Cutter
  • Laminator
  • Book Spiral Binder
  • Button Maker

TRiO Free Print Cards

TRiO Free Print Cards

  • Students in TRiO may get free print cards from events or mentors.
  • These are paper cards with something like "Noble Redbird Print Card" on one side and boxes on the other that can be checked off.  They are only good for free printing at the Visor Center.
  • TRiO students can also print for free at the TRiO Lounge on the 3rd floor of Fell Hall.

NOTE: Free printing currently is not offered for students in STEMAlliance and MASAI.  If these students do happen to come with a free paper print card as has been the case in the past, the print card will work for free printing at the Visor Center.
